What is Little Chefs?
Little Chefs is a mobile cooking studio that teaches children about food and how to cook in a fun, safe, and educational manner.
The goal of Little Chefs is to produce a positive relationship between children and food—in turn, creating healthy eating habits for life. While practicing basic cooking skills, children also learn and enhance other traditional disciplines, such as math, science, social sciences, nutrition, art and reading. In addition, children improve their motor skills, self-esteem, socialization, teamwork, independence, and personal responsibility.
Little Chefs’ Founder, Lori Tinella, inspires children to express themselves creatively through cooking.
Our programs are especially designed for children from ages two to teens. Our Program Menu offers a variety of experiences:
- Parties & events
- Pre-school enrichment
- Mommy or Daddy-and-me cookshops
- Classroom programs to support school curriculum
- Afterschool club enrichment programs
- Specialty group activities
Through these programs and related products we offer, Little Chefs presents educational content through recreational food-related activities.
Scientific research shows that children retain more of what they learn when they use all of their senses. This is the premise for Little Chefs’ hands-on learning philosophy behind our programs. What better way for children to learn essential life-skills involving nutrition, food groups and choices, meal preparation and cooking and social aspects of mealtimes? Little Chefs’ programs help children prepare for life and practice what they learn at school too!
